"We as graphic designers, artists, photographers, filmmakers and writers present our work into the public domain and therefore it is essential that we do so with a sense of cultural and social responsibility. "

MidDay Mantra

Sometimes it's hard to survive this days. I hate writing txts for awarding games. Bljak. Bljak. Bljak. I help myself writing so called photo poetry in between. A little bit of supertruper GRATIS toothpaste and a little bit of my thinking flow. Helping myself. :)

milano

It happened yesterday.I was walking in downtown milano, sort of singing to myself, and I hear the sounds you usually hear just before a car crash. Tyres blocked, etc. Then the collision.I walk past a few cars that were blocking my view, and I see the two bumped cars. They were still, in the middle of the road. I was still too... waiting for the replay.oh yes, just for maybe 5 seconds, but I did wait the replay. Then I sort of realized I was not going to enjoy it.Luckily, not all reality is this dull, this shy... so shy it doesn't want to happen twice. Emotions, for example, happen all over again quite often. I'm working on this. bye, kh.

Content Director

Thinking of copywriters I keep returning to the point of copywriter is not actually a copywriter. And as I've recieved a positive response from our copy collective I got this call forward to spread the tought and dig it further.

So far in advertising there's a lot of different kinds of directors working on perticular project. So I was thinkig, copywriters might become a Content Directors. A?

After Message Creator this is a new suggestion. Content Director.

Laziness Contest

Laziness is the lack of desire to act or work in general or to do an act or work that is expected of a person. In extreme cases, a generalized tendency to do nothing may verge on apathy and be a symptom of depression. What is considered laziness varies according to personal or societal context and magnitude.
The expression "intellectual laziness" is frequently used to describe a tendency to not ask questions, and not to scratch too much behind the apparent, applying a kind of mental routine (availability heuristic) or just following the crowd (herd behavior).

Are copywriters maybe to lazy to write? Suffering from kind of writing laziness?

This copywriter community is getting to the right direction :) but we must boost it a bit more. We have a lot of visitors here but are copywriters afraid to write?

Night Shift

... it's one of this nights while your txt is not improving as you tought. And its a bullshit txt you wouldn't work on it, anyway... But ----- cest la vie, a (our momental concept)?! We're going to the light at the end of the tunnel, so this are just a transition times... And here we are. 2 copywriters, sharing the pain in joy. Our break is BlackBerry's BrickBraker. Braking. it's always easier in duet.
And we just watched The 2006 YouTube Awards: Whether you see the existence of awards for YouTube videos as a natural evolution for an emerging medium or simply the 467th sign of the apocalypse, there's no denying that the online video has quickly become an influential player in this amorphous clubhouse called "media".
I can't paste link, please google or youtube and watch. just to know, what's going on.

Good Think's

Social responsibility, social awareness, ... call it as you like. we're doing it. Producing TV ad to communicate free of charge telephone line for victims of violence. It's gonna be composed of b&w photos, mainly portraits. Today we were synchronising our visions. I bet on preparations, preproduction, so here we are - director Matevz, photographer Matevz and me on the other side. btw -- 'matevz' is also the name of slovenian national dish made of smashed brown beans and potato. Bon apetit! :)

Paper toy

Lets make a unique toy for copywriters made out of paper. The idea is to make it on a4 format so we can all copy it print it and put it together. Set up would be easy... like putting together a box or something like that :)

20th post

This one is just because of sharing. My first post was about sharing. And when I was thinking a little earlier to pick another photo from yesterday's fashion puppets I found myself asking why would I like to ... That was yesterday's idea.
I've picked the photo, clicked and have noticed this is gonna be my 20th post so far. It made me smile.Later on I've realised it is exactly one month since we've started ctrl+c collective.

Idea that survived today.
Enjoy.

Promotors

Even the most tough models sometimes drop dead of being advertising space. It was Sunday afternoon and the advertising puppets decided to leave for a nice relaxation trip. They took sandwhiches and beer, got naked to feel a relief and drove away for better life...

How to play this game...

Talking about slovenian advertising festival (SOF) ... I have a really bad habit - a real good memory. Sometimes you see someone and you remember his face, but you don't know where from. So here i am to refresh your memory, where you know these adverts from.
On the left is the agency's Original original of the real original on the right.
and here are the links of the "original" and the original of the same idea - for the same product!!!

...and so simple words became immortal

I was provoked by brainDAD, so here is a short history of the slogan that was used oh so many times for oh so many different products. LIVE FAST, DIE YOUNG... I am sure you have seen this slogan before, so here is the anatomy of it! It became immortal with pop icon and actor James Dean, but it was first found in the book Knock on Any Door, which was published in 1947 and made into a movie in 1949. Humphery Bogart starred and John Derek played Romano.
Pretty boy Nick Romano has gone from altar boy, petty thief to cop killer in Chicago. His pregnant wife has committed suicide. He has just been sentenced and returned to his cell. Scene goes like this:
Pretty boy gets electric chair.
Nick, in the lock-up, leaned his head back against the bars and closed his eyes.
"Live fast, die young. And have a good-looking corpse."
Nick blinked his eyes wide.
The show was over.
You don't have to pretend any more now.
All cought up...
A kid in an electric chair all caught up.
Live had been fast.
Death had come young.
The good-looking corpse would be carried by its arms and lets to a slab in the autopsy room ...
